Money spells , design drills and farewells #41

 Hey everyone,

Greetings from Avinya, where another much anticipated mid-term holiday has begun! It has been a week of budgeting, design thinking and heartfelt farewells, setting the stage for the upcoming final lap of the academic year. As the students gear up to take a well-deserved break and recharge their minds, join us on this blog as we take a walk through the memorable moments of this week.

Our "Manage My Money" program has taken off with great enthusiasm among the students. As they eagerly envision their futures, they have delved into creating comprehensive budgets and financial plans. It has been eye-opening for many to realize that maintaining a dog (as wonderful as they may be) may not be as easy as they initially expected! Some have also had to downsize their future weddings in order to make realistic adjustments to accommodate their lifestyles after the big ceremony. This exercise has instilled a sense of financial awareness and responsibility, preparing them for the challenges that lie ahead.

This week, our students had the pleasure of attending an engaging presentation by Jeremy DeZilwa on the concept of design thinking. Through an interactive process, Jeremy guided the students to explore various perspectives and unearth some very interesting answers (and drawings). Design thinking has provided a fresh lens for our students to approach problem-solving, fostering creativity and critical thinking skills. The session not only broadened their horizons but also left them with a newfound appreciation for innovative approaches.

The Educator team will be spending the mid-term break refreshing and upgrading in not one but two training days.

There’s nothing like taking time to work together as a team and problem solve, renew, revise and emerge reinvigorated with a stronger sprint in our steps!

From invigorating news to some sad farewells…

As the month of May drew to a close, it brought a sense of bittersweet farewells to our academy. We bid goodbye to Jayani, a valued member of our pioneer team of educators, whose dedication and passion have been an inspiration to all. Our resident law expert and a constant instigator of more than one wildly misunderstood but humorous conversation, we will miss you dearly! Kosala, from our DevOps team, also embarked on a new chapter in his journey as well. Additionally, we bid farewell to Lakshman, whose insightful blogs have been featured on Avinya Scoop more than once. While it is never easy to say goodbye, we express our heartfelt gratitude for their contributions and wish them nothing but the best in their future endeavors.

Amidst the farewells, Avinya eagerly waits to welcome new members to its team. With the careful selection process narrowing down our wonderful applicants, we are excited to meet the next educators who will join our ranks. The rigorous selection process is to ensure that the best candidates who align with Avinya's vision and values become part of our educational family. These new additions will bring fresh perspectives and expertise, enriching the educational experience for our students.

Tune in next week for a daisy fresh blog on Avinya Adventures after the mid-term break!
