#49 Vlogging fun, graduation run and IT decomposition

Hello dear readers,

As we roll into another week, I will start off this blog with a lovely update from our educator Roshani who has a lot of interesting thoughts to share about the weekly adventures at Avinya.

Lights, camera, action… and the vlog week continues. This week was filled with so many vloggers and script writers going all around the school capturing videos for their vlogs about their journey in Avinya. The students put a lot of effort into editing their videos, showcasing their Avinya journey, and expressing gratitude for all the skills and life lessons they learnt here. Despite missing some students who were away for Jetwing training, the teams pushed forward with determination. Students are also super excited about their project showcase at the upcoming press briefing. They have spent countless hours brainstorming ideas, researching, and collaborating with their teammates to bring their projects and all that they have learnt here at Avinya. The anticipation is palpable as they eagerly await the opportunity to share their hard work and innovative ideas with the press.

However, the days of goodbye are coming closer and closer and the atmosphere is thick with a mix of nostalgia and excitement for what lies ahead as graduation draws near. The students have been working hard for weeks and are finally seeing the fruits of their labour. They are now ready to take their next step in the real world with their polished skills. As we get ready for an ending, we are also prepping up for our next batch. Along with the interviews we also conducted another empowering workshop to our upcoming students.

We started off this week in full swing by getting ready for a press briefing we have planned for Friday. On the heels of recruiting our second batch for the Empower Program, we have decided to invite a few media outlets to get a glimpse of Avinya in action. We extend a warm thank you to Pulse for accepting our invitation and for their early visit. They have created a beautiful video featuring Avinya, which you can watch using the following link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ys_imcSoJNU

Amidst the press conference, Avinya is abuzz with activity as we prepare to welcome our second batch of students. Workshops are in full swing to ensure that the new students are fully equipped and ready to join the Empower program. While we eagerly anticipate the arrival of our new students, we are also celebrating the achievements of our first batch. As Roshani mentioned, they are all set to take flight, and we are finalizing graduation plans. We saw Dee double as the Head of the Empower Program as well as a dance instructor this week!

In addition to these milestones, we had some good news for the students of the IT vocation. They will be following the  University of Moratuwa's full stack development course after graduation! To support their learning journey, we will soon welcome a new mentor to our Avinya circle. With this addition, we are hopeful that our students will become programming gurus in no time, ready to take on the IT industry by storm (or fire). We would like to thank Anju for doubling as the ultimate, supreme, snowballer of a planner in making this vision a reality for students.

As we continue on this journey of empowerment and as we reach the end of one successful lap, I want to extend a heartfelt gratitude to all our supporters, mentors, and partners who make our vision a reality! We are always grateful to you.

Stay tuned for more updates as we embark on the next chapter of the Avinya chronicles!
